IP Broadband Speeds
IP Broadband is a type of DSL service that uses a combination of copper wiring and fiber optic cabling to deliver faster speeds over greater distances than traditional DSL would allow.
While traditional DSL speeds are determined by the distance of copper wiring in between the signal's originating point at the Central Office and your home, fiber optics aren't subject to the same signal-loss over distance like copper is. Utilizing that as part of the infrastructure allows us to bring faster speeds to areas where traditional DSL would be unavailable.
We offer IP Broadband in two varieties: Fusion IP Broadband X1, X2, and X3 at 20Mbs/50Mbps/75Mbps and Fusion IP Broadband FX1,FX2, and FX3 at 50Mbps, 100Mbps, and 1Gbps.
The charts below detail what kind of speeds you can expect to see depending on your service type and how you're connecting to your residential gateway. If there is considerable disparity between the speeds you are getting and what is outlined below please consult our Troubleshooting Guide or contact Sonic Technical Support.

*Wireless connectivity is subject to a number of external variables that can negatively impact speeds. If you are experiencing poor speeds over WiFi please consult our wireless troubleshooting guide.
**WiFi 6 is a newer WiFi standard that will provide faster speeds and improved reliability over the old standard of WiFi. This really only benefits the faster speed tiers. More information on WiFi 6 here
